Configuration

When you select the Modbus RTU Master option, this page defaults to showing you the initial Modbus Read maps available in the device.

The sections along the top of this page indicate what option you are working on. These are Read map, Write map, Port Settings, and Config File. Selecting one of these options will take you to that particular section for configuration of the device. This page defaults to the overview of the Read Map section for configuring this portion of the gateway.

This page lets you see the maps that are currently in place. If a map number has to be modified, simply select the map number itself, or the pencil icon for the map. This will open the map to provide you access to how this map is currently configured, and make the necessary modifications.

Here is a description of the different fields available on these pages:

Modbus RTU Master Line Selection.png - Selecting this will allow you to edit that particular rule.

To delete an individual read map simply select the Trashcan.png icon for the map, and acknowledge this is to be deleted.

You will need to allocate a number of maps in this device, before they can be used. This information is entered on this line:AddNewMaps1.png . You will enter the number of maps you want added here:. The location of where these should be added is selected here: Modify Insert Location.png. Your options are: before a specified map number, or the end of the list.

You also have the capability of copying map(s) that already exist Modify RTU Copy Map.png. You will need to select the map or range of maps you would like copied Modify RTU Copy Range.png, and the location of where these are to be inserted in the existing list Modify RTU Copy Loc.png. These can be inserted anywhere in the current list, or have these appended to the end of the current list.

Read maps allow you to read other Modbus RTU slave devices, and save the data read locally.

Modbus RTU Master Port Settings

The communication parameters for the each port are controlled via the Port Settings. Here is the initial page for setting up a Modbus RTU Port:

This page is fairly simple, here is a breakdown of the fields on this page:

Modbus RTU Port Baud.png - Sets the baud rate this port is supposed to communicate with other Modbus device connected to it. Options for this field are: 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 38400, 57600, and 115200.


Modbus RTU Port Parity.png - Defines the communication parameters for this connection. Communication is based on 8 data bits and one stop bit. Here you will set the character format, number of stop bits, and parity requirements for this port. Options for this field are: None, Odd, Even, and None, 2 Stop Bits


Save - updates the entries you have made into the configuration database.
