The terms "global values" and "local objects" are used interchangeably in the IoTServer. The values are "global" in the sense that they are shared among all protocols and applications known to the IoTServer. The objects themselves are protocol agnostic, but may be presented to the outside world as protocol specific representations. The objects are "local" in the sense that they are stored and maintained within the IoTServer itself.
